Brum Yum! Takeaways all round in Birmingham

25 June 2020

The past few years have seen something of a food revolution in Birmingham. It has been celebrated around the world as a culinary paradise, with more Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK than any other city outside of London, an enviable street food scene and a hive of local breweries.

Whilst Covid-19 has forced us to stop visiting our favourite hang-outs, it certainly hasn’t stopped Birmingham’s chefs from delivering. Here’s a look at just some of the many independent businesses that are serving our new neighbourhood at Port Loop.

One of many independent businesses open for takeaway

The guys behind OPM describe themselves as Patty Pimps and Purveyors of Filth. Takeaway is available via UberEats with the great taste of aged longhorn beef patties, Boss Man sauce and spiced fries, all delivered to your door. OPM’s Patty Wagon is also touring the streets of Birmingham – follow them on Instagram to see where it’s heading next.

Foodies rejoice! Michelin-starred Carters is delivering meat and fish hampers with premium raw ingredients for you to recreate the chef’s signature dishes – such as Porthilly Rock Oyster cooked in aged beef fat – along with a pre-cooked meal for you to enjoy straight away. Why not pair it with a wine or craft beer hamper too?

Get Indian street food delivered to your door thanks to The Indian Brewery. Pakora pops, fat naans and Indian fish and chips are all on the menu.

Birmingham’s premier street food operator, DDC is now offering a click and collect service from Thursday to Sunday, with street food traders changing each week. Great excuse to order a feast!

Loki in Birmingham

Two of our favourite independents have joined forces to offer Brummies an hour long online cheese and wine tasting experience. Having already travelled (virtually) to Spain and Germany, the next venture is to France where Phil and Paul from Loki will take you through some of the country’s lesser-known wines whilst Will from Anderson & Hill talks all things cheese.

The city centre-based coffee shop is offering a subscription service on its coffee. Simply choose how frequently you’d like a delivery and enjoy freshly-ground coffee at home.

Port Loop - just 15 minutes walk from Birmingham City Centre

Wish you could give someone a hug? We’ve possibly found the next best thing! Send your face on a macaroon instead! Miss Macaroon is offering a delivery service on their delicious macaroons – including personalised versions with your photo on.

For anyone struggling with the home baking (or simply can’t get hold of flour), place an order with Early Bird Bakery. Of course, the hardest decision will be which cakes to choose. Pastel de Nata, sour cherry brioche, maple and bacon glazed doughnut...
