Introducing our newest art installation
We’re super committed to the arts and injecting a soul in the places we create with installations (see our track record here). We’ve just completed our latest such project at Park Hill where we’ve collaborated with Create Partnerships to install new urban street furniture and play pieces at the Sheffield neighbourhood.
Installed on the sculpture plinths in the landscaped area; these versatile outdoor exhibition spaces in the gardens at Park Hill provide additional seating for the residents, local community and visitors, and some animal sculptures that children are welcome to clamber over.
Create Partnerships is a Sheffield based independent collective that is owned by local serial entrepreneur, Paul Collings and provides play areas, street furniture, street lighting, sports facilities and early years outdoor learning settings for the public realm. The five pieces at Park Hill include...
The playing bench
Designed for a family to sit on, the integrated wooden slides provide smaller children with a great opportunity to move and play in the immediate vicinity of the parents, who can relax – either sitting or lying – on the bench. All objects originate from a single form – the so-called double helix, the form of the DNA strands of all living things. They thus have an energising and harmonising effect on people and the environment.
Zadig Bench – LAB23
Designed by Stéphane Chapelet ZADIG is a street furniture steel bench suitable for external and internal environments. It was made in Italy and part of the LAB23 collection that is characterised by a modern style and use of quality materials.
Stone seating – Concrete Rudolph
Designed by Eva Rudolph and inspired by nature, the Stone seating is typical of Concrete Rudolph’s style – manufacturing majestic inspiring pieces that are built to last. Taking on the familiar shape of the pebble the seating invites users to sit down, relax and enjoy quality-time and their surroundings.
Snail – Richter Spielgerate
The friendly snail can be used as comfort table seats or just to hold onto lovingly. Due to its emotional appeal it also provides identifying features that help children to develop a connection to the play area.
Bear - Richter Spielgerate
The gentle nature of the bear and the quiet expression creates an atmosphere of peace which is aimed to initiate a friendly encounter with the animals. The bear is made of stone which is ideal to stroke, touch and feel or be incorporated into roleplay games.
The installations will remain in place and maybe changed from time to time replaced with other inspiring street furniture - watch this space!
