Smith’s Dock awarded Offsite Project of the Year at 2019 Building Awards

11 November 2019

Our modular Town House and Fab House homes at Smith’s Dock have been awarded the Offsite Project of the Year accolade at the 2019 annual Building Awards.

Joint venture partners Urban Splash and Places for People – the collaborators delivering the Smith’s Dock site - have been recognised at the Building Awards thanks to successful use of offsite manufacturing methods to transform the former shipyard at Smith’s Dock into a new residential community.

As one of the highlights of the awards calendar, the Building Awards aims to showcase excellence in the property and construction sector. The ceremony was held on the 5th November at The Grosvenor Hotel in London and attended by industry professionals from all over the UK, seeking success in categories ranging from Digital Innovation to Housebuilder of the Year.

Town House at Smith's Dock

The homes at Smith’s Dock fought off strong competition in a busy category to be awarded Offsite Project of the Year by the team of judges who valued the positive impact the modular style of housing at Smith’s Dock has had on the overall success of the development.

Fab House at Smith's Dock

Smith’s Dock features 24 Town Houses designed by shedkm, as well as 10 Fab Houses designed by George Clarke and TDO Architecture. They were manufactured offsite at the House by Urban Splash factory in the East Midlands.
