A brand new show House anchors at Smith's Dock

20 October 2017

Joint venture developers Urban Splash and Places for People are launching a brand new show Town House at Smith’s Dock - the waterfront regeneration scheme in North Shields.

The new, three-storey, riverside home has been designed to show customers how they can use the space in a traditional living format; with spacious ground floor living areas, and bedrooms on the upper two floors.

The Town House is one of 24 modular homes which make up the Plateau phase of Smith’s Dock; created using new technology in a factory environment, the homes offer customers personalised choice and control; with a range of three storey options on offer - from ‘garden living’ – which feature a more traditional family living space - or ‘loft living’ where the living spaces are on the top floor - offering a quirky modern layout. The Government’s Help To Buy scheme is also available meaning you could set up home in this neighbourhood on the Tyne with as little as 5% deposit.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Smith’s Dock’s sales director Guy Ackernley said: “We launched our first show House over the summer and opted to dress it in a ‘loft living’ format, feedback from those wanting an alternative layout was fantastic but we did find a lot of our family based customers want to opt for the more traditional layout - hence we took the decision to create another show home to help them visualise that. We now have the best of both worlds on offer.

“It’s actually great to see so much interest from families in the remaining homes we have on sale here at Smith’s Dock; the 1,500 sq ft of space is obviously an appealing proposition; add to that the views of the river, the gardens and the OFSTED outstanding schools and it’s a prime option for any family - in fact any customer who wants spacious design in a contemporary architectural framework.”

The 24 Town Houses are just one of a number of phases at Smith’s Dock; the developers - who formed a joint venture in 2013 - are also on the cusp of releasing details and prices of the much anticipated FAB Houses; these ten exclusive homes will sit adjacent to the Town Houses and have been designed by North East favourite, and revered architect, George Clarke.

Work is also underway on 80 impressive apartments within the waterfront Smokehouse buildings; these two structures occupy a prime riverfront position and the apartments will be launched for sale imminently. Guy continued: “There’s a real appetite from customers who want to know the pricing and composition of the other homes we’re creating here and we can’t wait to unveil those finer details for both FAB Houses and Smokehouse in the near future; in doing so we’re adding alternative living propositions and properties at a variety of price points, which opens the development up to even more customers.”

The new show Town House is open for viewings now, anyone wishing to take a tour can email hello@smithsdock.co.uk or call 0191 580 7999.

Prices start from £299,950 for a 4-bed family Town house at The Plateau, Smith’s Dock.
