Local scheme awarded in national ceremony

    04 November 2012

Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has received four awards at the annual What House Awards which were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday.

Among the winning schemes was Stalybridge’s own Longlands Mill, which was transformed by Urban Splash last year. The scheme comprises the redeveloped 19th Century Mill and the new Pattern House building.

Other schemes to win awards include the company’s redevelopment of Royal William Yard, a Naval yard in Plymouth, Lakeshore in Bristol and Park Hill in Sheffield.

The Urban Splash Chief Executive Jonathan Falkingham, who collected the award on behalf of the company, said: "We are thrilled to have achieved these awards. The What House event is notoriously tough, with some of the country's best developers and schemes shortlisted. To have four Urban Splash schemes stand out is fantastic for us. We were awarded across a range of categories which shows how broad our consideration to affordability and sustainability is, without us having to compromise on our 20-year long commitment to good design.

"It is especially encouraging to see recently completed projects such as Lakeshore and Longlands stand out given how short a time they've had to make an impact on housing in this country."

The awards take the Urban Splash trophy cabinet total to more than 320. It is the second award for Longlands which was the 2009 recipient of a Manchester Evening News property award.

Anyone wishing to obtain further details about the Longlands scheme; where homes are available to rent, buy or buy on shared ownership can call the team on 0333 666 0000 or email live@urbansplash.co.uk.
