Developers prepare for public consultation as plans for the next phase of Park Hill are revealed
The joint venture partners transforming the iconic Park Hill in Sheffield will host a public consultation on 29th February – allowing the local community to feedback on plans for the next phase of homes.
Award-winning regeneration company Urban Splash and Places for People – the UK’s largest social enterprise – have redeveloped the building over the past decade establishing a new cultural quarter for the city. To date, they have created 455 new homes, accommodation for 356 students, and more than 50,000 sq ft of workspace, anchored within extensive landscaping and green space.
Notable highlights of the proposed fifth phase more new green spaces, as well as 105 thoughtfully designed new homes – some of them affordable. The one-, two-, three- and four-bedroomed properties will be a range of flats, duplexes and townhouses – each seamlessly integrating with the historic listed concrete structure.
Plans for the ground floor include 2,000 sq ft of commercial space providing a platform for independent, local businesses to thrive, and adding to the already vibrant and diverse Park Hill ecosystem – home to native brands such as South Street Kitchen, The Pearl, and the Grace Owen Nursery.

The news follows the partners’ application for the fourth phase of Park Hill in 2023. Subject to planning conditions, proposals were approved for 125 apartments – 20% of which will be affordable – with work set to start on-site this spring. The approved designs also comprise new public realm, EV charging, a car club and bike storage.
The consultation will take place on Thursday 29 February at the garage space at Pat Midgley Lane from 2.00pm to 7.00pm.
