What do you do as a company?

We’re Alphabet; A team of youthful, intelligent and dedicated creatives who have an unrivalled energy and passion for creating Design that lives and breathes in the millennial generation. Our specialisms lie primarily in Branding and Packaging.

What made you choose Beehive Mill?

When we first looked around the space, we instantly loved the character and history of the building. Manchester’s obviously not short of mill conversions, but this one felt like it wasn’t trying too hard to be too modern and ‘officey'. It has an abundance of original features whilst still feeling contemporary and professional enough to have our clients round for a meeting.

What do you like most about working in Beehive/Ancoats?

Ancoats is a great up and coming area with a real good community feel to it. We like the fact the area is full of independent businesses from all different walks of life. We’ve been here for a few years now, so it’s been great to see the renovation of the building and the whole area as it happens. From Rudy's Pizza to Ancoats General Store everything feels unique in Ancoats and we’re enjoying being a part of a community that’s growing as we do.

Will the new refurbishment works in Beehive make a difference?

We think it will make a huge difference. When we first moved into the building it was a bit 'rough around the edges’ to say the least. The studio spaces are beautiful as they are, but the communal areas like the toilets, kitchens and reception area definitely was in need of some TLC. The introduction of the larger meeting area downstairs will also be a great feature to be able to use for client meetings as our business grows.

What do you think of Urban Splash?

We’re big fans of Urban Splash. We’ve been familiar with the brand for years now and we have members of our team who have worked and lived in Urban Splash buildings across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds. Urban Splash always seem to reinvent spaces in a unique way that’s highly engaging, particularly for creative people like ourselves.

About Beehive Mill

Beehive Mill is one of Manchester’s oldest surviving cotton mills, but that’s only half the story. Since 1824, it’s been home to a soap factory, the legendary Sankey’s night club and is now home to a thriving community of exciting businesses and entrepreneurs working from private offices and co-working space.

We’re currently adding additional features to ensure Beehive Mill remains one of the most sociable, and desirable working hubs in Manchester. So look out for an improved reception area, new kitchens, toilets, a coffee shop, common rooms, bike racks, showers and a new urban garden.
