Urban Splash announces 13,500 sq ft of lettings – as Beehive Mill in Manchester is fully occupied

04 November 2021

Award-winning regeneration company Urban Splash has completed deals on more than 13,500 sq ft of space across its commercial portfolio in the past month – a total of more than 90,000 sq ft of deals for 2021.

In Manchester, Urban Splash has now fully let all 40,681 sq ft of workspace at Beehive Mill. The Listed building – once the renowned Sankeys nightclub – has this month welcomed new tenants including Pure Care Homes and Offlicate Media.

A further 5,000 sq ft of the deals were completed in Merseyside where Urban Splash welcomed businesses including online retailer MCC Direct and Leadzoom – a digital marketing agency – to the Vanilla Factory building in the city’s Ropewalks. It was also in the region that the company completed a further 3,000 sq ft of deals at the Matchworks in South Liverpool, welcoming businesses including Rehab4Performance.

Aoife O’Sullivan is commercial lettings manager and said: “We have certainly seen an appetite amongst businesses in 2021 to get back into great commercial spaces like these, and we are delighted to welcome them into Urban Splash buildings.

“We’ve enjoyed a strong run of lettings during the year, with a total 90,000 sq ft of deals completed. And though these deals are on workspace, we have also seen strong interest from leisure sector occupiers, completing other recent deals at New Islington Marina with bars, delis and restaurants who’ve helped bring the buzz back to the city.”

In Sheffield, Urban Splash also completed a 1,890 sq ft retail deal which saw a new convenience store opened at the revitalised Park Hill building in the city; in Plymouth the company continued to welcome businesses to its waterfront Royal William Yard development with further deals including to West Country Hearing.

Concluded Aoife: “Interest in our entire portfolio remains strong – be it for workspace, retail space, leisure space or gallery space. Our strength comes in creating brilliantly-designed buildings, in great locations, which crucially offer flexibility for our customers, giving them the support they have needed over this past year.

“This month’s strong lettings performance is testament to that.”
