Urban Splash announces 7,000 sq ft of Manchester deals

    10 November 2012

Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has announced a further 7,000 sq ft of deals in its Manchester portfolio, taking its total space let in the city to more than 20,000 sq ft in the last 6 months.

Almost 6,000 sq ft of the space has been taken in Ducie House, a building filled with rich Manchester heritage having been the base of bands such as Simply Red and 808 State who were some of the first studio tenants there after Urban Splash converted the building in the 1990s.

It is now a first choice for creative and start-up businesses including up and coming digital experts My Clever Agency as well as larger companies such as education consultants the Studio Schools Trust.

Another new tenant is mobile app developers Turned On Digital, their founder Mia Bennett said: "It's great being based in Ducie House - a buzzing environment filled with great businesses who I'm getting to know. The building is right next to the train station and in the heart of the city so it's great for us as we grow our client base in the region."

Other lettings include light industrial space at City Court and Thorncross Close. They come following a successful period of lettings for Urban Splash across its UK portfolio. Other deals have been completed in Liverpool, Plymouth, Sheffield and Birmingham.

The company’s commercial lettings manager Paul Jones said: “We do offer well designed, high quality spaces which are affordable no matter who the tenant is. We take pride in our flexible approach, be it offering monthly licenses or short form leases, which enable smaller businesses as well as larger businesses to set up within a building like Ducie. We’re thrilled that these companies are now part of our portfolio which includes some of the best businesses in the country.”

Limited spaces now remain at Ducie House, with other commercial opportunities in Manchester available at Waulk Mill and Chips, Ancoats, Timber Wharf.
