Urban Splash announces another senior hire as Greg Ball joins the business as Senior Development Manager

07 July 2020

In the latest of a spate of senior hires, award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has announced the appointment of Greg Ball MRICS as senior development manager.

Ball’s impressive property credentials have seen him manage some of the North’s most prominent regeneration schemes including Muse’s Cheadle Royal, Stockport Exchange and most recently, working with U+I to oversee the regeneration of the £1.4bn Mayfield site in Manchester city centre.

At Urban Splash, Greg will manage the company’s regeneration of Park Hill in Sheffield. The redevelopment of the next phase of the Grade II Listed building is designed by RIBA Stirling Prize winners Mikhail Riches, with new homes on sale now. Alumno Developments is creating a phase of student accommodation that are due to be occupied this Autumn and planning has been secured for the S1 Artspace cultural hub.

Speaking of his appointment, Manchester-based Greg said: “I’m lucky to have enjoyed a varied property career which has allowed me to deliver some very exciting and notable developments. To add Park Hill – and Urban Splash – to my portfolio is something I’m incredibly proud of.

We're creating new homes at Park Hill in Sheffield

“We are at a pivotal stage on site, bringing the next phase of homes and commercial space to market, whilst also working with partners to transform other areas of the building. I am delighted to be working alongside my new colleagues to continue the development of Sheffield’s ‘21st Century quarter’ as a growing new community and developing cultural hub, as well as working on many other complex, challenging yet rewarding projects with the company in the future.”

Added Urban Splash Chairman Tom Bloxham MBE: “It’s great to have Greg on board as our 27th new recruit this year; he brings with him great talent and experience from his previous work at Muse and U+I and we are all looking forward to working with him.

“Its positive that even in these challenging times, Urban Splash remains committed to growth and continues to create more jobs. We look forward to recruiting more ambitious, original thinkers and natural collaborators to join our teams.”

Greg’s appointment comes after an active year in recruitment for Urban Splash so far, in which the company has hired 27 new colleagues since January across a range of departments including assembling its development team in Cambridgeshire where it will soon commence work on the creation of a new neighbourhood at Inholm, Northstowe. The company is currently also recruiting for new colleagues in sales and site roles in places like Sheffield and Alfreton. More details can be found at:
