Urban Splash continues lettings success with another 72,000 sq ft of deals

01 September 2013

Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has signed an impressive 72,000 sq ft of new deals on commercial space in its Birmingham portfolio.

The Manchester-based business, which boasts more than 2 million sq ft of commercial space across the country has retained a wealth of existing tenants at its Fort Dunlop scheme in Birmingham, including a deal which sees Capita become the largest tenant in the Urban Splash commercial portfolio.

The deals include:
• Capita extend its occupancy to 66,000 sq ft of space on the building’s 5th and 6th floors

• Architects Dalkin Scotton double their space at the scheme and move from a 2,330 sq ft unit to 4,526 sq ft of space

• Tech company Systemware Services take an additional 2,167 sq ft at the building – again almost doubling their space

• Teleos Systems sign a new six-year lease on its existing 2,164 sq ft unit

Fort Dunlop is a much admired business hub; the building which offers in excess of 300,000 sq ft of office and retail space stands overlooking the M6 motorway on the outskirts of Birmingham. It has been a prominent feature on the Birmingham commercial market for six years and is home to a range of businesses, leisure and retail occupiers. It is one of many schemes in which Urban Splash offers office, studio, retail, leisure and industrial space to let as the company’s associate director Emily Handslip said: “We are thrilled to have completed on these deals which once again demonstrate our key strength in retaining tenants and accommodating their growth, something that applies to our developments across the country.”

In addition to the Capita deal, Urban Splash has let more than 85,000 sq ft on its nationwide portfolio since the turn of the year and follow on from big name signings in the North earlier in the summer including Pieminster in Manchester. The success is something which Emily believes comes from the company’s flexible approach as a landlord: “In spite of the challenging market, we continue to attract businesses to our buildings; whether they’re existing tenants who are growing with us, or new companies looking for more space.”

The Urban Splash commercial portfolio offers studio, office, managed office and retail spaces to businesses across the country. Anyone wishing to obtain further details should call the team on 0333 666 0000 or email commercial@urbansplash.co.uk
