    Urban Splash unveils Park Hill show homes

    05 October 2011

    The four show apartments are fitted out by four different groups each with a separate design brief to create a range of styles for people to view. The homes feature high quality specification with under floor heating throughout. There are also large floor to ceiling windows in all apartments which are also duplex and dual aspect so they all look out over both the city and Park Hill’s newly landscaped courtyard.

    The first 20 apartments will be released for sale on Saturday when the Park Hill marketing suite opens its doors for the first time from 11am till 6pm. Prices start from just £90,000 for a one bedroom home opening the proposition of city living in one of Sheffield’s most iconic buildings. There will be a good mix of apartments available ranging from £90,000 to £150,000.

    The 50-year-old Grade II* listed building has been given a new lease of life by Urban Splash in partnership with Sheffield City Council, Great Places Housing Group, English Heritage and the Homes and Communities Agency.

    Architects Hawkins\Brown working with Studio Egret West have revitalised the exteriors with colourful aluminium panels replicating the coloured brick tones of the original exterior and emphasising the modular structure. The landscaping around the site, designed by Grant Associates provides spacious courtyard and garden areas for everyone to enjoy.

    The four unique show homes have been designed to appeal to different audiences:

    • Interior design students from Sheffield Hallam University won a competition to decorate one of the homes;
    • Hawkins\Brown created an interior based on the theme of ‘Second Life’ with furniture that has been reappropriated, refashioned or remodelled with an interesting story to tell, much like Park Hill;
    • Studio Egret West developed a retro feel mid-century modern look;
    • While NoChintz, a specialist interior design team, also put together an apartment aimed at the mature downsizer whose family has now grown up and moved on.

    Nicola Wallis, Director of Residential Sales at Urban Splash, said: “We’re really excited about opening our new show apartments on Saturday. All of the apartments look fantastic and the designers have done a great job in fulfilling their brief. We have had a really good response to our marketing campaign and look forward to welcoming everyone and showing them around.”

    Councillor Harry Harpham, Sheffield City Council’s Cabinet Member for Homes and Regeneration, said: “This is a key milestone in the redevelopment of Park Hill, and I’d encourage as many people as possible to go along on the 8th of October and have a look at the show apartments. I’d particularly like to see lots of local Sheffield people going along and registering an interest, we’re really keen to keep the local community at the heart of Park Hill going forward into this exciting new phase.”

    The marketing suite is situated at the heart of the first phase of Park Hill and will be open on Saturday 8th October 11am till 6pm. For more information visit ec2-63-34-210-119.eu-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com
