Creating great Urban Splash places – thanks to our great customers
Our Urban Splash buildings and neighbourhoods are well designed places filled with interesting people and businesses (some of whom you can see here), so it’s no wonder they regularly make the news. Here’s a rundown of the latest mentions our places have received in the national press.
I’ve seen a few of our Urban Splash neighbourhoods talked about in the media recently and wanted to share them with you all in this blog!
First up, it was great to see Flawd in Manchester feature in the Guardian’s list of the 10 best restaurants and pop-ups in Manchester.
Flawd opened at New Islington in 2021 and has since earned itself quite the reputation. Located on New Islington’s Marina, its first summer this year saw customers spill out onto the waterfront to enjoy natural wines and small plates.
In the article, the Guardian praised the team’s “ingenious, daily changing menu” which it says “ranks among the city’s very best”.
Then last weekend, I read an article in The Telegraph which reviewed the 11 best UK locations for buying a second home – with Plymouth and our Royal William Yard making the list. The article celebrates Plymouth’s “bustle, amenities and culture” celebrating the Yard’s transformation “into a new neighbourhood…”. It goes onto say “the buildings have been preserved yet transformed into apartments, a cinema, artist and start-up spaces, a hotel and bars, and restaurants”.
Both articles come just months after Time Out’s praise of Sheffield – notably South Street Kitchen at Park Hill. Time Out ranked Sheffield as one of the best city breaks in Europe, encouraging readers to head to Park Hill for breakfast.
