Enjoying #YardLife from afar

28 May 2020

Life in lockdown hasn't stopped our brilliant community at Royal William Yard from safely hosting great events from afar, with an array of digital music, film and food events still to be enjoyed.

These businesses are working hard within government guidelines to reopen soon, but in the meantime here's a roundup of some of the great things our wonderful tenants have being getting up to.

Yard Jams Live

Live acoustic music with ‘Yard Jams Live’

The ‘Yard Jams Live’ bring an eclectic mix of live music by the brightest talent on the South West scene. The sessions stream live on the RWY Royal William Yard Facebook Page from 5pm each Friday.

Everyman Cinema - Coming soon to Melville

Everyman Cinema’s weekly cinema house party

Everyman Cinema will move into Melville at Royal William Yard, but until then they’re hosting a weekly House Party every Saturday night. Each week, they announce a classic film which will stream from 8.30pm.

Wagamama are hosting live classes each week

Wok from home with Wagamama

Wagamama’s a firm favourite amongst Yard visitors, but while the restaurant remains closed under lockdown, the team is hosting live ‘Wok from Home’ classes on Facebook and Instagram. Recipes and ingredients are shared on Sunday evenings ahead of live cook-a-longs taking place the following week on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6pm. Watch previous episodes here.

Le Vignoble at Royal William Yard

Wine flights instead of real flights…

We have recently worked with The Maverick Guide and resident business Le Vignoble to pair wines to support two recipes in their recent Comfort Cookbook. Yannick Loué has beautifully paired wine for Michael Caines - Pan Fried Monkfish with Mussels and Mark Dodson - Slow Roasted Shoulder of Lamb. Both wines are available to purchase from Le Vignoble online shop. The Comfort Cookbook celebrates the best chefs in the region who have kindly donated some of their recipes, including Paul Ainsworth, Mitch Tonks and Nathan Outlaw to name just a few. Available to read digitally through the following Just Giving Page.

Identity Fashion at Royal William Yard

Online Shopping

…And finally, you can still shop with many of our brilliant Yard retailers online (see them all here).

There’s designer fashion at Identity fashion, wine selection boxes with cheese and bread specials at Le Vignoble Plymouth, unique pieces by Martin Bush Fine Art, and the works of traders from our regular Good Food & Craft Market can also be found online here.
