Welcome to our May edition of Newsplash - a round-up of all things Urban Splash, featuring new homes, scheme launches, commercial news and much more.

This month, there's news on the partnership front as we've announced a land acquisition partnership with Grosvenor in a £10m deal, with our new partners praising our "track record of bringing forward some of the UK's most innovative regeneration schemes". We're also kicking off a series of stories from colleagues and long-term partners to celebrate our 30th year in business, there's tales from Tom Bloxham, Nathan Cornish and Manchester writer Len Grant this month. There's also news on more awards for Park Hill in Sheffield, as well as news from our Commercial team who rounded off Q1 with 15,000 sq ft of lettings. Read on to find out more.

Grosvenor invests in new partnership with Urban Splash

We’re delighted to have formed a land acquisition partnership with Grosvenor in a £10m deal that will see us purchase new assets and work up schemes post-purchase. Speaking of the deal Grosvenor’s Rachel Dickie said the deal helped match capital to “experienced delivery partners”, praising our “track record of bringing forward some of the UK’s most innovative regeneration schemes”. More awards for Park Hill – including an Olivier!

The regeneration of Park Hill in Sheffield has been celebrated recently, with a Northern Housing Award, and three awards from Architects Journal – including Retrofit of the Year 2023. Park Hill also won the Retrofit Housing Award, and the Listed Building £5 million and over category, while the Park Hill musical – the critically acclaimed Standing at the Sky's Edge – won TWO Olivier Awards including 'Best New Musical".

We’ve completed deals on 15,000 sq ft of space

We rounded off Q1 with deals on more than 15,000 sq ft of space across our commercial portfolio. The bulk of the deals were completed in the North West, which last year was refinanced as part of a £43m package with Aviva. A giant leap for Red Bull at Royal William Yard

All eyes were on Royal William Yard in Plymouth this month, as Red Bull diver Aidan Heslop dived from the top of one of our buildings there. Plymouth-born Aidan made the 68ft jump as part of his training ahead of this year’s Red Bull Diving World Series in Boston.
