A brand-new show home has opened in Manchester – and it’s doing good things for charity

21 April 2021

The modern housebuilder House by Urban Splash has unveiled a brand-new show house at New Islington in Manchester, with interiors that have been created for social good.

The three storey Town House features artworks that benefit charities; the ground floor space features prints by The Make Bank – a charity run by Liverpool based art and print studio Tom Pigeon. Proceeds from the prints will help tackle creative poverty in North West schools by providing materials, support and inspiration for pupils who want to follow creative careers.

Prints on the first floor are from Leeds-based In Good Company. The team’s Posters for the People campaign was present across the city during 2020, with colourful artworks that helped raised funds for the Frontline 19 Charity – a free and confidential psychological support service for all people working in the NHS and frontline services in the UK.

Further support for the NHS comes from House by Urban Splash’s use of Lick Paint’s NHS Blue, the proceeds from which will be donated to NHS charities. House by Urban Splash has also announced a partnership with Social Supermarket, whose ethically sourced produce is also featured around the show home.

House by Urban Splash interior designer Rachel Thomas explained: “This has been a great project to work on, allowing us to fuse our passion for social good – and great design.

“We worked hard here to find ways in which to support great causes, especially those which help people impacted by the past year. We have managed to source items that not only look great but give something back too. The result is a standout show home, and a space which gives potential customers a flavour of what life is like in our conscious, brilliantly-designed House by Urban Splash communities.”

Brand new Town House show home at New Islington, Manchester

The new show house can be found at New Islington Marina, overlooking the water and Cotton Field Park, just a few steps away from Pollen Bakery, Cask and the New Islington Free School. It is nestled amongst a brand-new row of homes now on sale, in an area that’s fast becoming the city’s most desirable place to live.

Senior sales manager Toby Brown said: “New Islington is a bustling, vibrant and exciting neighbourhood which offers a viable option for people who need more space, but want to stay in the city.

“These are actual houses, with parking, a garden, and a flavour of the suburban, but all set amongst the centre of the city. We can’t wait to show people around this new space and welcome more residents to the area.”

The layout of the show home has been designed to appeal to the increasing number of families moving to the area, with an open plan layout aimed at catering for those with children, showing the versatility of a home which can accommodate everyone working, socialising, exercising and living at home. Toby adds: “This layout shows the expanse of living space on offer, with oversized windows and doors maximising natural light.

“We had families in mind upstairs too, choosing the master suite configuration; a bedroom with, walk-in wardrobe, en-suite bathroom and snug, whilst on the middle floor there is a generous main bathroom and further two rooms ideal for an office or home gym – spaces we absolutely need in our homes right now!”

The homes, which are created using Modern Methods of Construction, are on sale now. They each offer three storeys of living space with a range of layouts to choose from. Prices from £499,950; further information can be found here.
