Urban Splash recruits Guy Ackernley from JLL
Following an increase in sales and lettings activity, award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has made 11 appointments across its residential, construction and development teams, including new residential director Guy Ackernley.
Ackernley – joining from JLL – will take up the role from the autumn, heading up the Urban Splash residential portfolio and managing sales and lettings at new developments including hoUSe in Manchester, Smith’s Dock in North Shields, Park Hill in Sheffield and Lakeshore in Bristol.
Guy – who will be based at the Urban Splash head office in Manchester – brings with him more than 17 years industry experience – 11 of which were spent at JLL most recently as residential director in its Leeds office. The role takes Guy back to his development roots, as he explained: “I started my career working direct for a London-based developer, so this new role is taking me back to the foundations of my working life.
“I am thoroughly excited about joining Urban Splash at a time where their sales and lettings activity is getting incredibly busy. I’m eager to get stuck into their pipeline of nearly 2,000 new residential units across the country.”
In addition, Urban Splash has appointed development managers Chris Monkman – a Planning Masters graduate who, before joining Urban Splash worked as an acquisition and development manager for Lidl in London – and Chris Shaw; who joins from his role as project manager at Manchester-based AA Projects. There have also been a number of other hires across the construction, sales and lettings functions.
The news comes following a successful year for Urban Splash; the company recently announced another strong year of trading, including £93.6m of property transactions and bolstering its JV development partnerships with both Places for People and The Pears Group.
